Finished: Another Hayden Shirt

by tolmema on September 11, 2014

I seem to knit in bursts. I had a dry spell for about a month and then all of a sudden I finished 3 things in one weekend!

This little guy is a sweater for a friend whose baby is turning one in October.  One of my LYS had a summer sale so I picked up several balls of the white and one ball of the green.

IMG_20140906_162130I used my Hayden Shirt pattern but made mods to it for cold-weather seasons. The sleeves are longer and the neckline is picked up and knitted instead of leaving it tunic-style. This keeps the neckline close to the body (and baby warm!).

IMG_20140906_161501Little Sister was in a gracious mood and let me use her as a model today. It’s a little small on her, though, which I actually wan’t expecting…I was hoping that this sweater would be sweater-length until about 2 years, but as you can see with the picture above its already a 3/4 shirt. Maybe a good block will help keep the sleeves a bit longer?

As for materials: I used Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light in an Army green and white. I knit up everything using 3.75mm needles, including the ribbing.

More info about this project can be found on Ravelry.
