Finished: Rainbow Cardigan

by tolmema on September 7, 2014

My coworker’s daughter just turned one so I made her a little cardigan.

I kettle-dyed some Paton’s Worsted for the rainbow stripes. I’ve had this stuff in my stash for awhile and was saving it for something special. The white is Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool.

The buttons are from a local boutique called Tart, a place that sells handmade wonders all types. They have an old little suitcase that is stuffed to the brim with second-hand buttons. The last time I went in there I hit a goldmine and picked up a few scoops worth of colorful buttons. I think they complement the rainbow coloring pretty well.

I don’t know what it is about rainbow stripes….they just make me so happy.

I’m contemplating creating a pattern for this cardigan…I’ve made about 5 of them now and they come together pretty quickly. Thoughts?
